Access to healthcare should not depend on a person’s income or where they live.
Many families face barriers to affordable, reliable care. The World Health Organization’s Africa Health Observatory reports that health insurance coverage in Nigeria remains limited and that out-of-pocket payments account for a large share of health spending. WHO Africa Health Observatory
A stronger health system requires steady investment and solutions people can see in their communities. We call on government at every level to:
- Strengthen primary healthcare and equip public hospitals.
- Expand affordable health insurance and reduce the burden of paying for care directly.
- Support and retain skilled health workers.
- Improve access to maternal, child and emergency healthcare.
- Publish clear information on health funding and service delivery.
Everyone deserves timely, affordable and quality healthcare.
We demand action and real solutions. It’s time to invest in Nigeria’s health system.
